British Holidays.

There are several public holidays in Britain. They are: Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, May Day, Spring Bank Holiday and Summer Bank Holiday.

 Christmas is the most popular holiday. It is celebrated on December 25. It is a family holiday. All relatives and friends give each other presents. People decorate Christmas trees. The traditional food is turkey and Christmas pudding.

December 26 is Boxing Day. This is the time to visit friends and relatives.

New Year’s Day is less popular in Britain than Christmas but January 1 is also a public holiday.

Easter is a religious holiday. It is celebrated in spring. People go to churches and they give each other chocolate Easter eggs.
